Register 9:30 a.m., begin at 10.  Round robin or Swiss

 format, no. of rounds may be adjusted according to entries.

   "PECAN" THOMPSON DOMINATES SOUTH BEND CHECKER TOURNEYS!
 
Charles "Pecan" Thompson, Carol Stream, Ill., won both events at the 11th annual Pool and International Checker Festival on Oct. 10-11, 2009, in South Bend, Indiana.  He scored 37 out of a possible 44 in Pool Checkers on Saturday, with Fred Shurn of Maywood, Ill., second at 32.   "Pecan" then won top prize in International or Big-Board Checkers on Sunday with 3 wins and a draw, or 7 out of 8 points.  Organizer Roger Blaine was second with 5.  We will send a complete crosstable later, with a few game scores.
